Prop Making

After several hours of hacking into tree branches to begin working on my torch handles, I began to wonder who's mistake it was to trust me with a saw. I haven't quite finished, but I'm almost there... And somehow haven't injured myself yet. I'm currently trying to track down some 'methylated acid' and some cotton socks - all the essentials. Once I have the acid, I can begin trialling the creation of coloured flames using, as suggested by my trusty chemistry student, 'boric acid'. This will ~in theory~ create green flames for added visual interest. Whilst there were many colour variations, I figured that green was appropriate given the scene. Connotations of green being 'rebirth', 'renewal', 'safety' and 'ambition' ; well-suited in a rebellion against a world of dystopia, and adding a little extra meaning behind the narrative and prop selection.  Anyway, here's me almost losing my limbs:

(...excuse the face. I don't know.)
